Historic和 historical尽管在意义上有重叠的地方,但用法上有区别.Historic指历史上有重要意义的：
the historic first voyage to outer space.It is also used of what is famous or interesting because of its association with persons or events in history:
具有历史意义的首次太空旅行.而且也用于形容那些因与历史事件或人物有联系而有名或有趣的事物：
a historic house.Historicalrefers to whatever existed in the past,whether regarded as important or not:
故居.Historical是指不管重要与否而在过去存在的所有事物：
a historical character.Historicalrefers also to anything concerned with history or the study of the past:
历史人物.Historical也指与历史或对过去的研究有关的事物：
a historical novel;
历史小说；
historical discoveries.The differentiation between the words is not complete.They are often used interchangeably:historic timesor historical times.
历史发现.但这两个词并不是截然不同的.它们经常可换用：historic times或 historical times
-ic 是指具有历史的 具有历史重大意义的
-ical 是与历史有关的
historical festival比较合适，因为historical有表示‘重大意义的’的意思。
而historic只是“历史(学)的”意思。

在与relics搭配的时候，historic 和 historical都是可以的，
historic：有历史意义的，histroic event可译为“历史性事件”
historical：历史上发生过的，仅仅是一个时间概念，不涉及价值或重要性，historical event可译为“历史事件”
