I learned lots of things throughout this lab such as how to balance chemical equation,calculate grams/moles,molecules and atoms,and moles ratios.Copper Sulfate was a chemical compound and we put it on the hot plate and heat it,we observed the dissolve in the hot temperature,the Copper Sulfate melted into blue liquid,and it was a physical reaction.The iron nail was also dissolved into copper after we put it in the beaker,it was shaken and bubbled.The above data showed the results of change in mass of each item,which is used to identify the law of conservation mass.The data of observation is used to verify the physical and chemical changes during the experiment which can be described as a chemical compound or mixture.The data of mole ratios was extremely important because it showed the result of each group which supported the chemical law.The method to get the ratios of moles of iron to moles identifies the experimental value by divided by both sides of mass.This lab was significant because we wanted to determine the number of moles which meant we did the lab instead of doing practice on a sheet of paper.We looked for moles and also we want to catch the idea of physical and chemical reactions and it must be balanced equally by chemical equation.The data were supported the significance of the lab since every group found out their own ratios and moles.The only thing that did not follow is the conservation of mass,because none of them maintain in zero change.My ratio was 1:14 which is not ideal,because it got 40% in source of error.The change in mass was 0.35g which is closed to zero but not exactly the same.The class ratios was similar than mine,because it got 1:14 and 41% of error.Source of error,there were various possible method to get the accurate number of this experiment,it might caused the degrees of temperatures,change in the heat of measured.Sometime there is no accurate numbers for chemical experiment or poorly obtained it because chemical quantitative is hard to figure it out,we just can find out the extremely approximate number.For a better result in the future we should measure and heat the chemical substance carefully.So we have lots of huge progressive space to be improved on.
