imitate 是指copy,模仿他人的行为举止
e.g.Her style of painting has been imitated by other artists.
simulate可以指假装,扮作 e.g.I tried to simulate surprise at the news.
或是,(用电脑,模型等)模拟,e.g.Computer software can be used to simulate conditions on the seabed.,所以与Imitate不同.
emulate是指努力赶上别人的成就的那种模仿行为:to copy something achieved by someone else and try to do it as well as they have:
e.g.They hope to emulate the success of other software companies.
所以三个都是不同的.

▲condition 作“状况”解释时与 state 相近，但含有“与周围环境有关”之意，如：
① He's now in a dangerous situation. 他现在处境危险。
② The condition of my health prevented me from working.
我的健康状况不允许我继续工作。
③ He's in no condition to travel.
他的健康状况不宜于旅行。
④ The ship is not in a condition to make a long voyage.
此船的情况不宜作长途航行。
【注意】condition可以有复数形式，而 state作“状况”解释时只能用单数。

② Joe took an active part in the workers' struggles for better pay and better conditions.
